Attributes

From Estiah Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

A character in Estiah is defined by his four fundamental attributes: Power, Dexterity, Intellect and Constitution. It should be noted that, in Estiah, intellect is not tied to magic and power not to melee. -- Estiah's character tutorial.

Unlike conventional RPGs, Estiah does not utilize experience points. Instead, a player's growth is tied directly to the development of their attributes. Increasing one's attributes is key to leveling up in Estiah. A character's attributes also determine which charms they may use, the jobs they may perform, and the classes they may specialize in.

Increasing Attributes

Attributes can be increased in several ways:

Character Growth

A character's growth is bounded. At most, a character may acquire only 900 attribute points via jobs, academy classes, or food. Once this limit is reached, the character will no longer be awarded attributes but will still earn gold or gain proficiency in skills. A character's growth is indicated on the character screen just below the level progress bar.

Mastering skills or drinking Elixirs may grant attribute points which do not count towards one's character growth limit.

Attribute Requirements

Attributes don't directly affect your character like other role-playing games. Instead, characters are limited in what they can do, or become, by their attributes. As characters develop they will satisfy many of these restrictions.

  • Most charms have a minimum requirement of two different attributes before a character can use them in their gears. More devastating charms have greater requirements.
Example: A Steel Axe requires 109 Power and 73 Constitution to use. If a character does not meet these requirements, this charm cannot be placed in their gears.
  • Attributes determine which classes the character may become. As a character develops, the player should likewise develop the corresponding attributes. Each of the top-tier classes ("T3" classes) have a primary and secondary attribute. It's beneficial to decide which class a character will become early in development so the attribute requirements are clear and character growth can be planned.
Example: A player wants to become a Novice. A Novice initiate requires 100 points in intelligence and 80 points in one of power, dexterity, or constitution. The character may not become a Novice until these requirements are met.
  • Most jobs have attribute requirements.

Hit Points (HP)

Hit points measure a character's physical endurance. Most PvP and PvE battles are a contest of physical prowess, so the more HP you have the better your chance of survival. Hit points are increased via leveling and skills. See +HP Skills for skills which increase hit points.

Spirit

Spirit measures a character's mental endurance and restricts the number of charms you can use in a gear. When a character has used all their charms in a fight they will collapse from exhaustion. Spirit is increased via leveling and skills. See +Spirit Skills for skills which increase spirit.
