Skills help to develop your character. Mastering a skill improves your attributes and allows you to use more powerful charms.
Players develop skills in four different categories.
Every skill has different requirements. Battle skills are gained through meeting certain requirements in fights. Evolution is mostly gained through specific jobs. Trade skills are gained through a mix of jobs, gathering, and gathering fights. Renown is gained through beating specific fights or eating rare items. It is the only skill that has no effect (with one exception) on your attributes.
The required points to increase a skill level progresses like this:
- Rank 1 - 100 Points
- Rank 2 - 180 Points
- Rank 3 - 220 Points
- Rank 4 - 260 Points
- Rank 5 - 300 Points
